HISTORY
Emeritus was founded in 2012 by Sheneka Rains & Robert Manross, who recognized a critical and overlooked need in hospital bed maintenance. Hospital beds, often neglected and left in disrepair, presented a significant challenge due to the difficulty of relying on the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for support. Determined to address this issue, Emeritus embarked on a mission to revolutionize hospital bed maintenance.
Over the past twelve years, the company has experienced remarkable growth, evolving from a visionary idea into a thriving enterprise. Initially incubated at the University of Texas at Dallas Venture Development Center, Emeritus later achieved certification as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), expanding its reach to secure government contracts and employ a dedicated team of engineers, the foundation of what is now Bed Maintenance 2.0. As the company continued to expand, it recognized the importance of cybersecurity in medical devices and diversified its services to include maintenance of various medical equipment.
As we transitioning into commercial healthcare systems, Emeritus is simultaneously focused on identifying other areas in healthcare where the proper use of medical technology could benefit from our specific approach. Emeritus has recently forged strategic partnerships with ITRemedy and HTC, and diversified its portfolio to include cutting-edge projects in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) for new approaches to HTM training. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, Emeritus looks forward to shaping the future of healthcare technology and delivering unparalleled service to its clients.
A veteran of the United States Army where he served over seven years honorably in the ordnance corps as a special electronics technician. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in March 2003 where he completed basic training at Fort Benning, GA. In May 2003 he attended signal school for electronics training. During his time in the Army, he served three tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2004 to March 2005, October 2006 to December 2007, and April 2009 to April 2010. In July 2010, after the Army, Robert attended the Erie Institute of Technology where he graduated with honors with an Associate of Specialized Technology degree in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology. During his last semester at Erie Institute of Technology Robert interned at Emeritus, formerly Rosellini Scientific, working on various types of hospital beds and biomedical equipment.
From Intern to CEO was a quick transition due to Robert's initiative and ability to provide an excellent customer experience. Robert's responsibilities now include maintaining operational excellence and building the company's future.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and the nationally recognized CBET certification, she began her career at MediSend International an non-profit arm of Exxon Mobil where she took on the challenging role of teaching Clinical Engineering principles to technician's native to the healthcare systems of the developing world. This opportunity not only opened her eyes to glaring gaps in healthcare delivery but also allowed her a deeper understanding of the design principles for a broad range of medical devices.
In an effort to increase her knowledge base while contributing to the Healthcare Technology Management needs of the community, Sheneka donated several months of volunteer work to the Baylor Healthcare System. Here she worked in some of the most innovative hospitals in the country, understanding the latest in biomedical technology, interoperability, workflows, hospital construction requirements and patient focused design. Here is also where the identification of the neglected hospital bed was made. Once identified, Sheneka's entrepreneurial drive started building the foundation of what is Emeritus today.
